Paragliding Sim Demo Version 4.0!

Hi all

I have just released demo version 4.0, this has some MAJOR changes and improvements;

A new flight physics model has been implemented, this allows for much better acro manouvers. Also great visual improvements to the wing (you can see the brakes deform now).

A simple GPS can now be used to complete auto generated tasks, they will be customizable in the future.

You can now spawn AI paragliders (they are not very smart yet), which try to follow you, applying speed bar when they can afford it.

Download the free demo and let me know what you think!

I hope to release a full version soon with many more wings and maps to fly.

Thanks and Happy Flying!

Evan

Hallo , can not downloade the Demo .

Great game, do you know if it is possible to add possibilty to use track IR like other flight simulators ?

The game is simply AMAZING! I can't wait to have more wings and to try acro. It would be awesome if you could choose to start from cloud base to do acro.

Hi. The game is amazing but I only have 3 glider do you know how to have more?

Thanks for making this. I have been looking for a simulator to use with students during winter months.  I downloaded and contributed. Is there currently a VR Headset and Controllers that can be used with this now or in future?  Would like to have it hooked up to a harness and controllers.

I agree with Valorin, the camera is a little frustrating currently. I can't see where I'm turning to, since the camera rotation is lagging behind. Hopefully you will support the Oculus VR, so I can look where I want to. I'm happy to pay towards that.

I am also having an issue with the XBox controller. I mapped Left Brake to Axis 9 (Left Trigger) and Right break to Axis 3 (Right Trigger). But I can't press them both fully, only one break is active at a time. There seems to be some mixing going on.  As I add left break it removes right break.

Amazing work!

Thanks for the feedback, as for the Xbox controller did you check it’s input values in the control panel of windows? I think it’s just the way the pc reads the Xbox inputs because on my setup the seperate brakes work fine.

As for the camera I will try to make it better, if you press C it cycles through 4 different cameras too.

Thanks

Evan

You're right, I figured it out. The Z-Axis (Axis 3) is shared between both trigger buttons. If I use axis 9 and 10, then I get the independent values. So all is good!

Any thoughts about VR support?

Hi Evan !

Well done for your amazing work, it's really impressive !

The wind simulation is simply stunning ! I can't believe you managed to simulate rotors or thermals that well ! And YES thank you ! Changing the harness type is something I've always wanted to do ! The new spawning system is really good too, the fact that we can spawn close to the terrain straight away is a great addition which saves a lot of time.

The only problem I see now is the camera. I really enjoyed the camera fixed to the harness you had on you previous version because you could see the wing and your direction at the same time. I think you should put it back. I really don't like the camera prediction now, it never looks where I want, in first person view like in the external following view.

For example when soaring and going up, the external view looks up to follow the speed direction of the pilot, but that's not where I want to look at all ! The same goes when the doing wing-over in first person view.

Another great addition would be to be able to move the first person camera with joystick inputs so we could do acro in FPV.

Anyway, stunning work again, the camera stuff was the only issue I could find, Thanks for this beautiful sim, and I can't wait to see the final version ;)

Thanks a lot for the feedback, I’ll add the fixed offset camera back.

I will work on the follow camera too...

Thanks

Evan

Super une nouvelle version ! Trop hâte de la tester ! J'espère bientôt une version avec un multijoueur intégré (pas très compliquer à faire sur Unity il me semble) pour pouvoir plus facilement jouer avec les potes !
